João Victor T. Gomes. Mentorship Program coordinator.

João is from Rio de Janeiro and got his BSc. in Pharmacy at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. During that period he was also a visiting student at Trinity College Dublin through the Science Without Borders program. He is currently a PhD student in the Butterwick Lab at Yale University. His research aims are to investigate insect chemoreceptors using structural biology to develop finer strategies against disease vectors and pests. João works as a mentor in the Iniciativa Proxima and wishes to assist young Brazilian scientists trajectory in any way he can.
