This is a 10-month (March-December) virtual mentoring program, supported by Yale University, that will culminate with the in person Seminars in Biomedical Sciences in Brazil. Through interactive discussions, this program will introduce students to critical practices, skills and strategies necessary to become leaders in their research field. The 3-day in-person Proxima Symposium will create meaningful connections between these young talents and leading scientists from around the world and will allow them to consolidate the networking skills learned along the virtual program. This program is a partnership between Iniciativa Proxima and Yale Program in Biological and Biomedical Sciences (BBS), Yale Office of International Affairs (OIA), CAPES-Yale Graduate Scholars Program, and the Yale Poorvu Center for Teaching and Learning.
