Matt is a Fulbright Scholar at the Federal University of Ceará’s National Lab of Experimental Oncology in Fortaleza, Brazil, where he studies natural product drug development under the mentorship of Prof. Claudia Pessoa, PhD. Matt received his bachelor’s degree in biology from Fairfield University and, upon completing his Fulbright Scholarship, will enter Yale University as a PhD student in chemical biology. Through Iniciativa Proxima, Matt is excited to learn from and work with the next generation of young, Brazilian scientists.
