Leopoldo Machado. Assistant Communication Advisor
Leopoldo is a postdoctoral fellow at Yale University, where he is pursuing innovative ways to employ biotechnology and genetics to study host-pathogen interactions. Before moving to the USA, he received his Bachelor and Master degrees in Pharmacy from Federal University of Minas Gerais in Brazil and completed a PhD in Biotechnology in the University of Manchester in the UK. Leopoldo is very engaged by programs and opportunities aimed to promote research and science education. He is a gay man and member of oSTEM where he is involved in mentorship programs. In his free time, he enjoys doing meditation, exercising, hiking, traveling and exploring bars and coffee shops.
